Transas Marine International in Gothenburg commissioned Space M to design the vision system extension for a navigation simulator in Rørvik for their Norwegian end customer Sikkerhetssenteret (Rørvik AS Safety Centre).

The update of the new simulator was necessary, to allow more accurate and closer navigation of objects in the water, such as fishing in breeding tanks. For the simulation, a spherical screen was chosen, to run the projection as close as possible to the side of the ship. Detailed design renderings were provided to the client to illustrate the benefits of our solution.

The task included the design and installation of the screen (4 m high, 12.6 m in diameter), the design and integration of the projection system, and the implementation of the patented domeprojection.com ProjectionTools auto-calibration.
